(Very) Great Classics
The Pastry Collection for Autumn-Winter 2009/2010
Christophe Michalak, Head Pastrycook at the Plaza Athénée Hotel, is convinced that a combination of “high-class” products, simplicity and generosity is the key to a cake or pastry that is a true delight. This season, he is taking a whole new look at the “Great Classics”, in every sense of the term.
First of all, he is using his creative flair to reinvent each of our traditional French pastries, giving them his own very personal touch – the famous Paris-Brest has become a Paris-Montaigne, the lemon meringue tart is “not too heavy on the meringue” and the flaky pastry in the vanilla slice has been rotated through 90 degrees!
Secondly, his pastries are served by the metre, so that everybody can choose the portion size they want! Those with a sweet tooth will be able to give free rein to their preferences while those who are watching their weight will be able to enjoy a “little treat”!
Finally, those who appreciate the French lifestyle will enjoy the traditional service provided by our maîtres d’hôtel.
A collection to delight food connoisseurs and food lovers alike.
