At the Relais Plaza Gallery from June, 29th to August, 30th
Just before this year’s Haute Couture shows, the hotel that is the temple of Paris fashion is putting on an exhibition of 18 photographs by Pierre Boulat, portraying Yves Saint Laurent from the nineteen-sixties to the nineteen-nineties. The photographer takes us with him to discover the hidden side of Yves Saint Laurent: from his workshop - where his first collection took form - to Marrakech - where he used to spend his holidays, and where he found his true source of inspiration. Pierre Bergé, who is particularly fond of this series of black and white photographs, said, “Meeting Pierre Boulat was wonderful. He was with us almost round the clock. We realised that the three of us were making what would become the memory of Yves Saint Laurent“.
A unique exhibition - in conjunction with The Pierre Bergé Yves Saint Laurent Foundation - to be admired between 29th June and 30th August 2010 in the Gallery of the Relais Plaza, the art deco restaurant in the Avenue Montaigne, where Yves Saint Laurent used to dine on Sunday evenings…
Le Relais Plaza, located 21 avenue Montaigne, is just a few steps away from the Théâtre des Champs Élysées and is an established Parisian meeting place 'par excellence' where a prestigious clientele come and enjoy a casual moment.
With decor directly inspired by the liner, Le Normandie, Le Relais Plaza is a bistro chic offering a traditionally authentic cuisine with a modern twist. Guests are welcomed by Le Relais Plaza's friendly Restaurant Manager, Werner Küchler, and then sit down to enjoy elegant dishes by Chef Philippe Marc, who interprets Alain Ducasse's 'savoir faire'.
