Disneyland Paris and the Plaza Athénée unveil the “Magic Window”, a superb visual delight on Avenue Montaigne

Christmas is coming, with all the dreams and enchantment that fill the atmosphere with such sparkle and enchantment in wintertime. During this unique season, the world of Disneyland is being carried, by magic, to one of the most beautiful luxury hotels in Paris – the Plaza Athénée.
An enchanting breeze is wafting from Disneyland to Avenue Montaigne
Last March, Christophe Michalak, the Plaza Athénée’s famous Pastry Cook, created a mouth-watering éclair dedicated to the “new generation” hero, Buzz Lightyear, especially for Disneyland. It had plenty to appeal to the senses of gourmet visitors and food lovers alike, in a land in which dreams come true. It was also a play on the character’s French name, Buzz l’Eclair.
With Christmas approaching fast, it is now Disneyland’s turn to open up a whole new world for the senses by bringing the very essence of its magic right into the heart of Paris. Come to the Plaza Athénée between Wednesday 1st and Wednesday 22nd December 2010 and see the “Magic Window”. It’ll put stars in your eyes. Like an Advent calendar, the magic window will enchant Avenue Montaigne every day and, like a Disneyland attraction, will delight passers-by. Then, every Wednesday, it will provide the setting for something very special.

The magic window on the hotel façade will reveal its secret every Wednesday from 1st to 22nd December. Passers-by will be able to look at it every day but it’s only on Wednesdays that it will be magically turned into a theatre and reveal the enchantment of Disneyland. From 5.30 p.m, Minnie Mouse will appear on the terrace of the Parisian hotel, escorted by her dancers, to orchestrate a Christmas event combining magic, luxury and elegance. Then Mickey Mouse will join her and switch on the hotel’s Christmas lights.
And the “Magic Window” will host a spectacular sight, magically becoming a tableau with real people and characters. Every Wednesday, a new prince and princess from Disneyland will appear as if by enchantment, stepping out of the “Magic Window” to greet passers-by, families and those who are still children at heart with whom they will share a whole host of surprises.
Created to convey a sense of timeless magic, the “Magic Window” combines the traditional and modern aspects of the Plaza Athénée and Disneyland, for just four exceptional moments on Wednesday 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd December 2010 from 5.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
